Can New Zealand Win Their First Cricket World Cup?

New Zealand have never won the Cricket World Cup, but the Kiwis are now 2/1 from 10/1 to land the big one.

The Kiwis defeated India on Wednesday afternoon at Old Trafford, winning by eighteen runs and booking themselves into the final.

New Zealand were beaten by Australia in the 2015 Cricket World Cup final in Melbourne and they could face each other again, as Thursday’s other semi-final between Australia and England will decide who will take on Gary Stead’s side.

England are another team who have never won the Cricket World Cup, but the country’s one-day cricketers are now being backed to win this summer’s World Cup on home turf with their odds tumbling into 13/10 favourites, with 4/1 available just a few days ago.

Australia have already beaten England in this year’s World Cup during the group stages.

The hosts soon regained their mojo when they beat India by thirty-one runs followed by a comfortable win over New Zealand by 119 runs.

However, Australia know what it takes to win as they haven’t lost to England in the World Cup since 1992 and will be aiming to get into yet another final to win their sixth title. They are currently priced at 2/1 in the outright alongside New Zealand. Australia’s odds against England in their semi-final clash are 5/4 making Eoin Morgan’s team the favourites at 4/6.
