Cryptic McGregor Backed To Team Up With Becky Lynch In WWE

Conor McGregor is an odds-on shot to have his next bout in the WWE ring after he dropped a hint that he could go down that route following his supposed retirement from MMA.

McGregor’s latest social media teaser came in the way of a congratulatory Tweet to Becky Lynch on her WrestleMania victory, which was signed off in cryptic fashion by the Dubliner as he wrote ‘I couldn’t do what these athletes do…or could I?’

Limerick-born Lynch won the Winner Takes All match at WrestleMania 35 and was backed into 100/1 from 250/1 with BoyleSports to pick up RTÉ’s Sports Personality of the Year award. McGregor is now a 7/4 shot to appear in a Mixed Match with her, but he’s an even shorter 4/7 to make his next appearance in any WWE event.

The ‘Notorious’ seemed to retire from MMA last week but a subsequent spat with Khabib Nurmagomedov has fuelled rumours of an imminent return to the UFC, with a rematch between the pair now just a 5/2 shot from 10/1 days ago.

WWE say this year’s WrestleMania broke all sorts of grossing records and adding Conor McGregor into the mix is only going to break many more.

After Becky Lynch’s victory we wouldn’t be surprised to see them team up at some stage and with Conor’s latest hint, we’re treading cautiously with the odds of it happening.
