Death Duty Favourite For Albert Bartlett and Neptune At Cheltenham

Gordon Elliott’s Death Duty has been made the new favourite for the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle and the Neptune Novices’ Hurdle following his Grade 2 Novice Hurdle win at Navan on Sunday.

BoyleSports slashed the Gigginstown House Stud owned 5-year-old from 7/1 to the now 5/2 favourite off the back of his win. He now has little competition for the Albert Bartlett with Blow By Blow and Bacardys both next, but at the larger odds of 12/1.

Death Duty has also been cut for the Neptune Novices’ Hurdle and now heads the betting at 8/1 having been priced at 16/1 before his win at Navan.

Death Duty impressed when he saw past favourite Ruby Walsh’s Invitation Only, who finished third, and finished 3 ¼ lengths ahead of second place Monalee.

Now unbeaten from three Grade 2 starts, Gordon Elliott’s 5-year-old is now cream of the crop for both the Albert Bartlett and Neptune Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham next year having been cut to 5/2 and 8/1 favouritism respectively.
