Douvan The Pick Of Mullins Trio Declared For BoyleSports Champion Chase

Douvan, Min and Un De Sceaux have all been declared for the BoyleSports Champion Chase at Punchestown on Tuesday.

The Willie Mullins trio now dominate the head of the market for the headline race of the opening day of the Punchestown Festival, with Douvan, who returned to action in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham, heading proceedings as 5/4 favourite.

Min will be hoping to go one better than recent second place finishes in the Cheltenham Champion Chase and Melling Chase at Aintree and is 5/2 second favourite, while Un De Sceaux is a 5/1 shot fresh off a Grade 2 victory at Fairyhouse.

The €162,250 on offer for the winner of the BoyleSports Champion Chase now provides Mullins with a boost in his bid to catch Gordon Elliott in this year’s Trainers’ Championship. Elliott currently leads the race by over €500,000, however Mullins was supported into Even money from 6/4 after Sunday’s declarations.

It looks like he’s throwing the kitchen sink at the €162,250 winning prize in the BoyleSports Champion Chase.
