Enable The Pick Of Fascinating Prix De L’Arc De Triomph

ParisLongchamp is once again the home of Europe’s premier Flat race and we look to have another fascinating Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe ahead of us.

Three-year-old fillies have a great record in the race and Sea Of Class is there to try and enhance that stat and also follow her sire, Sea The Stars, and granddam Urban Sea, by winning the race. It’s another filly that is expected to trump her though.

Ready and Able
Before he had even got down from the Chantilly grandstand last year John Gosden had mentioned in an interview that it would be nice to try and win the Arc with Enable at two different racecourses.

Gosden would have certainly plotted a very different path back to the French capital than the route he has been forced to take with Enable but the important thing is that she looked to be ready to go on her return last month.

We’ve only seen Enable once since last year’s Arc but her return couldn’t be more pleasing and

there’s no doubt that she is full of class.

Watching back last years race and when Frankie urged her to go on, Enable put the race to bed in a matter of strides and just had too many gears for her rivals.

This year she’ll face different challenges and probably a tougher track as well, but Enable has a plum draw whereas Sea Of Class has to overcome a poorer starting position out wide and Kew Gardens is likely to get caught out over this trip.
At her best Enable beats Waldgeist and hopefully she’ll prove to be at her very best here again today.

O’Brien to rule with juveniles
It was a bit surprising to see just 14 two-year-olds line up for the first two Group 1 races on Sunday’s card.
Pink Dogwood is picked to win again in the Prix Marcel Boussac.

The daughter of Camelot finished second behind two promising types on her first two outings and bolted up at Gowran Park on heavy ground a fortnight ago.

The ground will have an ease in it at ParisLongchamp and that won’t do her any harm and she is a filly that could well progress to the top rank for Aidan O’Brien and the Coolmore team.

Roucques is the obvious danger from the home challengers but these O’Brien two-year-olds continue to improve as the season progresses and probably even more so this season following the bug that interrupted their progress for a period in the summer.

Broome is a more tentative choice in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere. Just six go to post here and Broome can go one better than his run at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend.

Broome was second to Kevin Prendergast’s current stable star Madhmoon at Leopardstown but he was still a bit green that day and can potentially make another big leap forward here which could give him every chance of ending the season as a Group 1 winner.
