Everton Given Boost In Relegation Fight After 1-0 Win Against Chelsea
Everton beat Chelsea 1-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday and now their hopes of Premier League survival have been given a lifeline.
Burnley’s dramatic win over Watford on Saturday left Everton five points from safety with two games in hand, and despite being underdogs, Frank Lampard’s side secured a home victory against his beloved former side.
We now make the Toffees 7/4 from a short 8/11 to be relegated.
Everton next travel to eleventh placed Leicester City on Sunday in the 2pm kick-off. They won’t be too optimistic because they have the worst away record in the Premier League this season, with only 1 win in 16 away matches.
The threat of relegation for the Clarets was eased to 7/2 from 13/8 on Saturday evening but following Everton’s win, they are now back into 9/4 to be playing in the Championship next season.
Burnley next face Aston Villa, who will be full of optimism after just sealing Norwich City’s relegation at the weekend. But the Clarets have their optimism, with three wins on the bounce in the Premier League & only one defeat in their last six matches.
In the race to finish in the top four, Arsenal have been cut into 4/9 from 8/15 after beating West Ham 2-1, while Tottenham have been eased out to 6/4 from 11/8 despite their 3-1 win over Leicester.
Leeds – 5/4
Everton – 7/4
Burnley – 9/4
Southampton – 66/1
Brentford – 100/1
