FA Cup Odds Shorten On Philippe Coutinho Debut Goal v Man Utd

The latest odds suggest Philippe Coutinho will make an instant impact at Aston Villa after the Midlands club agreed a deal with the Barcelona playmaker on Friday.

Villa manager Steven Gerrard has secured the services of his ex-Liverpool teammate in a loan deal until the end of the season, which includes an option to buy the Brazilian 29-year-old outright for a fee of £33m in the summer.

The early trends suggest at least five goals in the league before the end of the season, and at 4/1 from 5/1 they’re expecting him to waste no time by scoring against old rivals Manchester United.

Coutinho’s debut is likely to come against Manchester United, either in Monday evening’s FA Cup clash at Old Trafford, or at home next weekend in the Premier League.

He was quickly chalked up at 5/1 to bag a goal on his Aston Villa bow, but that has already been trimmed into 4/1, who rate the attacker a short even money shot to score at least five league goals before his loan spell runs out at the end of the season.

A haul of six or more assists in the same period is also within reach at 6/4, while a goal against his former employers Liverpool when they visit Villa Park in April is a 7/2 shot.
