Fitzhenry and Some Neck Joint BoyleSports National Trial Favourites

The BoyleSports National Trial Handicap Steeplechase takes place at Leopardstown at 4.20 on Sunday and it’s a close field as two leading horses battle for favouritism.

Gordon Elliott’s Fitzhenry is tied for favouritism at 5/1 with Willie Mullins’ Some Neck. Fitzhenry is one of six entries from Grand National winning trainer Elliott. Last year’s BoyleSports Irish Grand National winner, General Principle is currently priced at 8/1 with Dounikos next at 12/1. Monbeg Notorious (16/1), Space Cadet (20/1), Woods Well (25/1) and Don Poli (33/1) will also represent Elliott.

Last Year’s Irish Grand National runner-up Isleofhopendreams (16/1) and Orion D’Aubrelle (25/1) complete Mullins’ three strong entries.

The winner will be granted free entry into the Irish Grand National by sponsors BoyleSports, and one trainer who has their eyes on the prize is Shark Hanlon.

Confidently speaking of his entry 13/2 Kilkishen, Hanlon said “He will absolutely love the trip. Three miles isn’t far enough for him so going three and a half miles will be perfect.”

We are paying 1/5 the odds on five places and customer can avail of a free bet if their selection finishes 2nd to the SP favourite.
