Birmingham City Slight Favourites Ahead Of BoyleSports Derby Against Coventry City

Birmingham City have edged ahead in the betting for the weekend Championship clash between landlords and tenants at St. Andrews as they seek their first win on home soil since October.

Coventry City (9/5) go into the match three points clear of their Midland rivals following a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, but it’s Birmingham (7/4 from 9/5) who shade the betting with sponsors BoyleSports ahead of Saturday’s 3pm clash.

However, a draw has proved to be as popular a selection as a victory for either team and has shortened into 2/1 from 11/4 with the last five head-to-heads between the sides ending level after 90 minutes.

Both previous Championship meetings between managers Aitor Karanka and Mark Robins have also finished in draws and struggles in front of goal for both sides mean a second goalless draw this season is now a 6/1 shot from 13/2.

If we were to go by the betting this week, this is looking like one of the most likely draws on Saturday’s coupon.

Coventry’s Callum O’Hare helped end a near two-month goal drought at St. Andrews by providing both assists in their recent victory over the relegation-threatened Owls, and the former Aston Villa midfielder has shortened into 6/1 from 8/1 to lay on another goal in Saturday’s encounter.
