He said: “This should be an epic encounter. Galway were very good the last day against Armagh and the excitement of the penalties was unbelievable.
“Galway are Connacht champions and Derry are Ulster champions and the Leinster champions play the Munster champions in the other semi-final. That hasn’t happened in a long time, so it’s great to see.
“This Derry side are athletic and full of class. I was very impressed with Conor Glass the last day scoring 1-02 from midfield. He will probably match up with Cillian McDaid from Galway who also scored 1-02 in an epic performance the last day in midfield.
“Both men were Man of the Match for their teams, so this will be some encounter between the pair come Saturday.
“Benny Heron from Derry has been unbelievable and has got a goal nearly every game. He has been a revelation.
“I can’t separate the sides in the betting to be honest, so I think the draw at 13/2 is a great bet.
“If I had to pick a winner, it would be Galway – their inside line is very sharp, but I’m set on the draw.”
