Gerwyn Price Gambled To Retain World Title Next Year

Gerwyn Price is already being backed to be top of the darts world again next year after landing his maiden World Championship title at the Alexandra Palace in London on Sunday.

The Welshman claimed two televised titles in 2020 at the World Series of Darts and the BoyleSports World Grand Prix before his World Championship Final victory over Gary Anderson saw him overtake Michael Van Gerwen as the new World Number One.

We have already cut the ‘Iceman’ into just 10/3 from 9/2 to retain the Sid Waddell trophy early next year,

…putting him hot on the heels of Dutchman Michael van Gerwen, who has been eased slightly to 11/4 from 5/2.

Nathan Aspinall (18/1 from 20/1) and BoyleSports Grand Slam champion Jose de Sousa (20/1 from 25/1), who both received Premier League entries following the World Championship Final, are amongst those being backed should there be a new name on the trophy next year.

The early betting for next year suggests a period of domination could be on the cards for Gerwyn Price and nobody could blame punters for being confident following his performance at the Worlds.

If Michael van Gerwen’s dip in form continues, we could see the Iceman going off frontrunner in this year’s majors!

Bet here.
