Punter Misses Hole-in-One By Inches

BoyleSports can report that a lucky Carlow punter nearly netted a hole in one on the golf over the weekend from his €4 each way double bet but still managed to turn it into €10,530.40.

The punter who wishes to remain anonymous placed a €4 each way double on Padraig Harrington (250/1) to win the Honda Classic and Kevin Phelan (200/1) to win the Joburg Open.

Harrington managed to win the Honda Classic in a play-off and Kevin Phelan finished in a tie for second at the Joburg Open but if Phelan had managed to win the punter would have netted a whopping €214,758,001.

Both Padraig Harrington and Kevin Phelan both played excellent golf over the weekend and their relative successes nearly had us massively out of pocket.

We wish the lucky punter happy spending with his winnings and we can also report that we have already seen plenty of interest in Harrington at 3/1 to make the 2016 European Ryder Cup team.
