Goodbye Goodbye Jay James

X Factor’s Big Band week did not disappoint with some big numbers and some big fails.

Jay James’ medley of Empire State of Mind and New York New York got mixed reactions and he is in big trouble of getting the boot. Having been 9/2 before the show Jay is now the odds on favourite at 10/1 to make his departure.

Simon dubbed Stevi Richie’s performance the worst of the night and he is 2/1 for his time on the X Factor to be up. Louis’ groups both looked in danger of bowing out of the competition ahead of their respective performances but have since been edged out in the betting. Only The Young were the 7/4 favourites for the chop but have been pushed right out to 8/1 after their delightful take on the Jungle Books I Wanna Be Like You. Stereo Kicks made yet another last minute change, which they pulled off as they are also on offer 8/1 from 5/2 to go.

Lauren Platt has made a shock move up the Elimination betting following her take on Nat King Cole’s Smile as she is now a 14/1 shot from 33/1. The bad news doesn’t stop there for Lauren as she is on the drift in the Outright market and can now be backed at 7/1 from 5/1.

Fleur blew everyone away with her show stopping finale and at 3/1, alongside Ben Haenow, is rivalling 11/8 favourite Andrea Faustini for the title.

Aoife Heffron, PR Executive at Boylesports, commented “Jay James is in big trouble after his Big Band performance with many branding it Karaoke. He may have made it out of the Sing Off last week but at 10/11 it looks like he won’t get away with it this week.”

She added “Lauren could be in for a shock having been supported in from 33/1 to 14/1 to get eliminated and drifting right out to 7/1 from 5/1 to win, which could spark the end of her time on the X Factor.”
