Gosden’s Colt Too Hot To Handle In Dewhurst

Newmarket remains centre stage again on Saturday with a mix of Group 1 action as the Dewhurst throws up a mouth-watering race and the £500,000 prestigious Cesarewitch which pitches 34 runners against each other over 2m2f.

Willie Mullins saddles seven of the Cesarewitch runners where there is a strong Irish challenge, while punters might be advised to play late in the Dewhurst.

Gosden’s Colt is Too Good
Advertise is the sole previous Group 1 winner contesting the Dewhurst Stakes on Saturday but Martyn Meade’s charge has been rather unheralded ahead of this race and is 10/1 fourth favourite with BoyleSports.

That says a lot for the three colts priced shorter than him but favourite Too Darn Hot is a worthy favourite here.

John Gosden’s latest superstar looks to have it all and puts an unbeaten record of three from three on the line here.

Too Darn Hot just seems to have so much class and plenty of speed to put races to bed and it would be a surprise if Anthony Van Dyck can improve enough to beat him or if Advertise has the tactical speed to keep him honest.

Some believe that Too Darn Hot may drift out to go odds against so it might be best to take your time when it comes to having a bet on this race but…

he is a favourite hard to oppose.

Cesarewitch Could Be France Bound
Donnacha O’Brien has been enjoying an incredible season but the recent weeks in particular could have even surpassed his own expectations. Southern France may provide him with another big Newmarket winner.

Southern France was third in the English St Leger manager and now steps up in trip to contest this competitive Cesarewitch for which he could have too much class.

There is every chance that Southern France will go on to obtain the highest rating of any of these runners but there must be some element of concern whether or not he will have the experience required to win a race of this nature but he has a favourable rating and a nice three-year-old allowance which could help him prove too good.

Aidan O’Brien wouldn’t target these big handicaps with the same mob-handed approach as Willie Mullins has but…

Southern France could well lead home the Irish contenders and give the Ballydoyle master a first win in the race.

Onlyhuman Ready To Break Handicap Duck
Without a win since landing a Gowran Park maiden last year, Onlyhuman looks to have conditions to suit at Limerick this afternoon. Second in a similar race at the track earlier this year, Onlyhuman posted a good effort last time out at Galway in a conditions race and clearly likes getting his toe into the ground.

With the rain that is due to fall overnight the surface should certainly suit him better than most in this mile handicap and off a mark of 80 he is left with a lovely racing weight of 8st10lbs and would appear…

to be one of the better bets on the flat card at the Munster track.

Recommended Bets:
Too Darn Hot (10/11) – 3.00 Newmarket
Southern France (6/1) – 3.40 Newmarket
Onlyhuman (6/1) – 2.10 Limerick
