A Plus Tard Goes Favourite For Cheltenham Gold Cup

A Plus Tard is the new favourite for next year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup after a runaway victory at Haydock on Saturday.

Henry de Bromhead’s charge put his rivals to the sword with a dominant performance under Rachael Blackmore, who steered the Gold Cup runner-up from last season to a comprehensive 22-length victory and a third career Grade One.

We have now cut the winner into 7/2 from 7/1 to go one better in the Festival’s blue riband next March

…putting him ahead of stablemate Minella Indo, who is now second favourite in the betting at 11/2 to win the race for the second year in succession.

De Bromhead had already been celebrating a debut win over fences for Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle winner Bob Olinger, whose Beginners’ Chase win at Gowran Park saw him cement his status as favourite for the Marsh Novices’ Chase at 6/4 from 3/1.

Bravemansgame meanwhile is now a joint favourite for the Festival Novices’ Chase at 5/1 from 8/1 after making it two from two over fences with an impressive victory at Haydock for Paul Nicholls.
