Al Boum Photo has been backed to complete a Gold Cup hat-trick at Cheltenham this March after returning to the track with a victory in the Savills New Year’s Day Chase at Tramore.

Willie Mullins’ charge went off the 1/6 favourite and comfortably saw off three stablemates to land the race for the fourth consecutive time…

A win which saw a third Gold Cup victory trimmed into 10/1 from 12/1.

A prolific festive period for the Closutton trainer was capped on Saturday when Stormy Ireland bounced back from a disappointing run in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle in November by landing the Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham.

The 8-year-old was subsequently cut into 4/1 from 8/1 in the betting for the Mares’ Hurdle back at the Festival in March, making her the new antepost favourite ahead of Telmesomethinggirl and Epatante (both 6/1).
