Don Cossack As Fit As He Can Be For King George

Christmas is nearly upon us and it’s a busy time in any yard this time of year. We are galloping away and doing our last bit of work at the moment.

It’s been a bit hectic lately and things are still a bit up in the air as it stands but we’re very much looking forward to the days ahead as we’ll have a lot of horses running over Christmas. There’s a lot of planning and organisation going into the next few days and it’ll be mayhem trying to sort it all out! Once I see the weights later I will have a better idea of where we’re going and make a firm plan.

Schedule
We’re really looking forward to the King George on Boxing Day. Don Cossack is in good form and he’s doing his last bit of work this morning. He’ll have a routine canter on Wednesday morning and all being well he’ll travel over to England on Wednesday afternoon.

He’s as fit as he can be now so hopefully he’ll stay fresh and well on his travels.

My staff will go over with him and they look after him very well.

Thistlecrack
Colin Tizzard’s Thistlecrack looked very impressive in the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday. I saw him run last year but I thought he was a much stronger horse this year. He’s the horse they all have to beat for the World Hurdle as things stand.

My horses came out of the weekend well and despite having no winners at Ascot we had some good runs so I’m happy with that. Taglietelle came through ok and if all things go to plan we’ll aim him at the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park at the end of January.
