Minella Indo And Clan Des Obeaux Vie For King George Favouritism

Minella Indo and Clan Des Obeaux are neck & neck in the battle to go off favourite for Sunday’s King George Chase at Kempton.

The Gold Cup winner was third on his only start this season…

Whilst hat-trick seeking Clan Des Obeaux will be making his first appearance of the campaign in the Kempton feature and the pair are current joint 11/4 favourites.

Last year’s winner Frodon has been backed down gradually from 14/1 to 9/2 third favourite since landing the Down Royal Champion Chase on his seasonal debut at the end of October, while Nicky Henderson’s Chantry House has been clipped into 5/1 from 6/1 this week.

Willie Mullins meanwhile has confirmed that Appreciate It will stay over hurdles this season after plans to go chasing were shelved by a minor setback.

The 7-year-old has since shortened into 7/1 second favourite from 14/1 for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, while his removal from the antepost betting for The Arkle has seen Ferny Hollow backed into 7/4 from 3/1.
