The Jessica Harrington trained Sizing John, who is currently 6/1 for Sunday’s Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown, has seen support on Wednesday for the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The son of Midnight Legend is now 33/1 from 50/1 for the Blue Riband event with Thistlecrack currently heading the betting at 7/4.

Punters look eager to take an antepost chance on him for the Gold Cup knowing that if he impresses at the South County Dublin venue on Sunday they may be sitting on some value bets heading into the Cheltenham Festival.

Saturday’s Betfair Hurdle at Newbury has also seen support for the Evan Williams trained Clyne, who is now 11/2 from 7/1 to go one better than his runner up spot at Haydock last time out to The New One.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ Ballyandy heads the market at 9/2.

Saturday’s Chase over two miles at the same venue has seen current Arkle favourite Altior eased to 8/11 from 1/2 whilst the Colin Tizzard trained Fox Norton is now 2/1 from 7/2 with Philip Hobb’s Garde La Victoire now 5/1 from 8/1.
