Tiger Roll Goes Sole Favourite For BoyleSports Irish Grand National

There is a clear stand-alone favourite for the BoyleSports Irish Grand National for the first time since the market opened after Tiger Roll was backed heavily to add to his glittering CV.

Connections have been keeping their cards close to their chest about his next assignment after deciding against an Aintree Grand National hat-trick bid claiming an unfair appraisal from the British handicapper.

We originally chalked up the five-time Cheltenham winner at 14/1 to win the Irish equivalent,

but he was one of three co-favourites at 6/1 on Thursday morning before shortening further into just 9/2 ahead of final declarations on Friday.

The move puts him clear of the Paul Nolan-trained Latest Exhibition who is now 13/2 second favourite, with Sempo a 7/1 shot to provide Joseph O’Brien with his first winner in the race. Recent Willie Mullins recruit Agusta Gold is also shortening at 9/1 from 14/1 after the Closutton trainer broke his duck in the most recent renewal in 2019.
