Innisfree Backed To Arise & Go To Epsom Derby

Innisfree landed trainer Aidan O’Brien his 19th Beresford Stakes at The Curragh on Sunday afternoon justifying his short odds of 4/6.

He just got up on the line by a neck to Shekhem in a thrilling finish with Gold Maze another 3 ¾ lengths back in third.

O’Brien has won this Group 2 with the likes of Japan, Saxon Warrior, St Nicholas Abbey and Capri and now Innisfree has added his name onto the famous roll of honour giving the Ballydoyle maestro a 9th consecutive win in the race.

This 2-year old son of Galileo had two runs before the Beresford Stakes with a victory at Galway in July when beating Shekhem by the same distance as he did at The Curragh.

BoyleSports have introduced Innisfree at 33/1 for the Epsom Derby next year with Pinatubo the 6/1 ante post favourite.

Mogul is 8/1 while Armory is the third favourite at 16/1.
