Ireland Rugby World Cup Odds 2023 – Winner, Stage of Exit & Pool Odds

In this post you can find all the latest Ireland Rugby World Cup odds as the country aim to win their first ever Rugby World Cup this autumn.

Ireland Rugby World Cup Odds

Ireland have been given odds of 5/1 to win the 2023 Rugby World Cup. That makes the Irish the joint-third favourites along with group rivals South Africa who have also been installed at odds of 5/1.

The two teams ahead of Ireland in the betting for this year’s Rugby World Cup are New Zealand, who are favourites at 5/2, and hosts France, who are 11/4 to win their first-ever Rugby World Cup.

Ireland’s Rugby World Cup Pool Odds

Ireland have been drawn in Pool B of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. They are joined in the group by defending 2019 Rugby World Cup Champions South Africa, Six Nations Rivals Scotland plus Tonga, and Romania.

Ireland are the 10/11 favourites to win Pool B. South Africa come in just behind Ireland in the betting for Pool B as second favourites at odds of 11/10.

Meanwhile, Scotland have been given a slender chance by our odds makers at 15/2 in the Pool B winner odds. The two smaller countries in the group, Tonga, and Romania, are rated as 150/1

Ireland are 1/12 to qualify out of their group and to the other end are a giant 2000/1 to finish last in their group!

Ireland Rugby World Cup Stage of Elimination Odds

Ireland are expected to get eliminated at the Quarter-Final stage by our oddsmakers and so are currently 10/11 to either finish first or in second place in their group before likely being eliminated by New Zealand or France (assuming they qualify ahead of Italy, Uruguay and Namibia).

Ireland have infamously never been beyond the Quarter-Final stage at a Rugby World Cup. Given Ireland’s status as the number one ranked side in the world and co-third favourites this is a better chance than ever for them to get to at least the semi-final stage.

Interestingly, Ireland are priced next shortest to be eliminated as World Cup Runners-Up suggesting that the Quarter-Final is expected to be the country’s biggest test and if they can overcome France/New Zealand then they should likely win their semi-final.

Ireland are 5/1 to go all the way and win their first-ever Rugby World Cup. Interestingly Ireland are shorter priced at 13/2 to be eliminated at that stage rather than being eliminated at 7/1 in a Semi-Final. This suggests to me that the odds compilers see Ireland as a confidence team but are potentially fragile to getting shocked at the Pool Stage.

Ireland Rugby World Cup Stage of Elimination Odds

Stage Odds Chance
Quarter-Finals 10/11 52.4%
Runner up 4/1 20%
Winner 5/1 16.7%
Pool Stage 13/2 13.3%
Semi Finals 7/1 12.5%

Ireland Straight Forecast Rugby World Cup Odds

Ireland’s involvement in the Rugby World Cup straight forecast makes for some interesting reading.

If Ireland are to advance to the 2023 Rugby World Cup Final then the most likely result is a loss to France. That is according to our oddsmakers who have priced up France beating Ireland in the final at odds of 14/1.

Next up in that market is a New Zealand victory over Ireland which is rated as the same likelihood at odds of 14/1 also.

If Ireland are to win the 2023 Rugby World Cup then the team they are most likely to beat in the final are New Zealand at 20/1. Tournament hosts France are the second most likely team that Ireland will beat in the Final if they make it there according to our odds makers who give it a 25/1 chance of happening.

A victory against England in the Rugby World Cup Final (oh how sweet that would be for Irish rugby fans) has been set at odds of 33/1.
