Support has also been strong for Mullins’ State Man (now 11/4) in the Champion Hurdle, who is being singled out as a worthy challenger to Constitution Hill. Despite Irish optimism, Nicky Henderson’s superstar, who has been likened to three-time Champion Hurdler Istabraq, remains the hot favourite at 2/7.

And it’s not just Mullins who has the green army gone barmy. Fellow Irish trainer and Meath man Gordon Elliott goes to battle with an exciting line-up including star names like Mighty Potter, Delta Work and Conflated. Elliott is 7/1 to be crowned top trainer with Nicky Henderson at 9/1.

Both Elliott and Henderson will need to upset the odds if they are to get the better of the red-hot Willie Mullins, installed as the 1/8 favourite, and be crowned Cheltenham Festival 2023 Top Trainer.

Further back in the betting for the Top Trainer award at this year’s Cheltenham Festival is Henry De Bromhead who comes in a 28/1 odds and Paul Nicholls who is rated as a 33/1 longshot to claim Top Trainer at Prestbury Park.
