Could We Have An Irish Winner Of The Irish Open?

Lahinch Golf Club hosts the 2019 Irish Open this week with Spain’s Jon Rahm the clear 15/2 favourite to land the title in Co. Clare this Sunday.

The best of the Irish players in the outright is Shane Lowry who is 16/1 from 20/1.

The 32-year old from Offaly has claimed that he has played his best golf ever this year since turning pro in 2009.

The former Irish Open champion, who has one victory this season already when landing the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January, is 80/1 to lead after the 1st round and win the tournament, with favourite Jon Rahm 33/1 to be leading at the end of play on both Thursday and Sunday.

We make it a 15/2 chance for an Irish winner of the Irish Open with other home hopes including former Irish Open champion Padraig Harrington (100/1), Seamus Power (100/1) and Paul Dunne (66/1).

Shane Lowry is the 6/5 favourite to be the best of the Irish with Graeme McDowell and Paul Dunne at 9/4 and 7/1
respectively.

It’s 5/2 for there to be a playoff and 11/4 for just one stroke to be enough to lift the trophy.
