Jon Rahm

Jon Rahm Now Odds-on To Match Seve’s Haul Of Majors

Punters are expecting Jon Rahm to go on and become a multiple major winner after he broke his duck in the US Open at Torrey Pines.

The San Diego venue played host to the Spaniard’s first win on the PGA Tour back in 2017 and proved to be a happy hunting ground again as he birdied his final two holes to seal a one-shot victory over South African Louis Oosthuizen.

Rahm was a 5/1 shot to bag at least five career major championships before he teed off at Torrey Pines,

but we have since cut him into 5/6 to match the haul of late compatriot Seve Ballesteros, who won five majors in nine years between 1979 and 1988.

It’s now only a 7/4 shot from 8/1 that Rahm becomes the most successful Spaniard in men’s golf by winning at least six majors before he retires, with his next opportunity just over three weeks away at The Open.

Rahm has already been backed into 9/1 from 12/1 to win his first Claret Jug at Royal St. George’s, which makes him favourite for the tournament ahead of Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson (both 10/1).
