Julian Nagelsmann Tottenham Favourite After Mourinho Sacking

Next Permanent Tottenham Manager

Outright Betting

Julian Nagelsmann has been installed as the early favourite to be appointed manager at Tottenham after they parted company with Jose Mourinho less than a week before the club are due to compete in the League Cup Final.

Spurs, who were one of six English clubs involved in the European Super League announcement on Sunday, finished the weekend in seventh position in the Premier League following Friday’s draw 2-2 with Everton, their third match this month without a victory.

Now punters are expecting Daniel Levy to make a move for Julian Nagelsmann, who guided RB Leipzig to last season’s Champions League semi-finals in a run which included a 4-0 aggregate victory over Tottenham in the knockout stages.

The 33-year-old has already shortened into 3/1 from 4/1, with Brendan Rodgers (9/2), Eddie Howe (9/2) and Nuno Espirito Santo (8/1) also featuring prominently in the betting.

Nagelsmann certainly fits the bill for Tottenham having developed a reputation as one of the best young coaches in Europe and he’s the one attracting the large majority of the early support.

Ryan Mason, who has been placed in temporary charge ahead of Wednesday’s league encounter with Southampton, is a 20/1 shot to get the job on a permanent basis.
