Kameko And English King Odds Slashed For Epsom Derby

Trainer Andrew Balding described Kameko as ‘the best we’ve had for a long while’ in his Kingsclere stable and now the stunning youngster has landed the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket at odds of 10/1, beating the 5/6 favourite Pinatubo.

Kameko finished his two-year-old season with an impressive three-and-a-quarter-length win in the Group One Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes at Newcastle in November.

Following today’s victory, BoyleSports have now trimmed the Sheik Fahad Al Thani’s Qatar Racing owned prospect into 4/1 from 8/1 to go on and win the Epsom Derby making him the new ante post favourite.

English King advertised his Epsom credentials after showing an impressive turn of foot to secure victory in the Derby Trial Stakes at Lingfield on Friday and was hammered into 7/1 from 40/1 to win the Epsom Derby.

Those odds took a further hit a few hours later and he is now the 5/1 second favourite. Pinatubo remains a 7/1 shot.

Kameko’s trainer Andrew Balding has spoken very positively about this exciting prospect, while English King has also impressed with odds plummeting.
