Kane Favourite To Be Named Permanent England Captain

Harry Kane has been named England captain for their upcoming World Cup qualifying clash against Slovenia but a permanent captain has yet to be announced.

It’s been almost three months since former England captain Wayne Rooney announced his international retirement but Gareth Southgate has yet to hand the armband to a permanent owner.

There are just three candidates in the betting with Harry Kane the red hot favourite of the three.

Kane is now 4/6 to be named as the permanent captain of the England squad by Gareth Southgate…

…while Jordan Henderson remains in contention for the role having captained the side for their wins against Malta and Solvakia last month and is on offer at 5/2 to get the job full time.

Gary Cahill, who wore the armband and led the team for England’s friendly against Germany in March, is priced at 6/1 with any other player available at 7/1.
