Katie Taylor Short Odds To Defend WBC Title In New York

Confirmation of Katie Taylor’s next fight was released this week as she attempts to unify the lightweight division in women’s boxing.

Katie takes on Delfine Persoon on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s fight against Jared Miller on June 1st in Madison Square Garden, New York.

The 32-year old Irish boxer is 1/10 to beat the Belgian who is 11/2 to defend her WBC title.

Katie has won the WBA, IBF and WBO with the WBC the only title missing from her impressive belt collection.

Winning this title will make her the undisputed champion, something the 2012 Olympic champion has dreamed about with Katie confirming after her WBO win over Rose Volante last month, “It’s always been my goal to become the undisputed champion, I’ve got three belts now and one to go”.

Taylor is the Even money favourite to become the 2019 RTE Sports Personality of the Year for a second time as she won it back in 2012 having won a gold medal at the London Olympic games.
