Keith Long The Early Favourite For Dundalk Post

Keith Long has emerged as the favourite to replace Stephen Kenny as the manager of Dundalk FC. The Bohemians manager played with Dundalk from 1993-1996 and is 5/2 to return in a managerial position.

Another name in the running to take over the reins at Oriel Park is former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr who is currently the 11/4 second favourite. Collie O’Neil and Alan Reynolds are both priced at 5/1 with Vinnie Perth available at 8/1.

It was revealed on Saturday that Kenny, who lead Dundalk to four league titles in six seasons, will be stepping down to pursue a role managing the Republic of Ireland U21’s before taking over the senior team from the newly appointed Mick McCarthy after the Euro 2020 finals.

Despite the departure Dundalk FC are 11/10 favourites to retain their league title for back to back years with Cork and Shamrock Rovers their only real threat in the betting at 2/1 and 7/2 respectively.
