League of Ireland First Division Betting Tips & Odds – Gameweek 27

In this post, you can find our League of Ireland First Division betting tips and odds ahead of Gameweek 25 of the season.

League Of Ireland First Division Table

Here’s how the First Division table looks after Round Twenty-Six!

Waterford v Galway

When? 7.45 pm, Friday 11th August

Where? The Regional Sports Centre, โ€ŽWaterford

How To Watch?ย LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Waterford can be gotten at 8/5, Galway are 13/8, while the draw is 11/5.

Preview

Waterford have three wins and two draws in their last five, most recently beating Wexford 0-1 on Monday. However, their First Division title dream seems to be long gone with them trailing Galway United by sixteen points with one fewer game played.

If Waterford are to stand a chance at all of automatic promotion they will need to win this match and their game in hand to reduce the gap to ten points with nine league games to play.

Galway are outstanding with 22 wins from their 26 matches and just one defeat, the top-scorers in the division with 68 goals and have the best defence with only eleven goals conceded.

Victory here would put themselves nineteen points clear with nine matches to play; it only seems like a matter of time before the coronation comes.

Prediction

Waterford 1-2 Galway

Cobh v Bray

When? 7.45 pm, Friday 11th August

Where? St Colmanโ€™s Park, Cobh

How To Watch?ย LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Cobh can be gotten at 11/10, Bray are 2/1, while the draw is 12/5.

Preview

Cobh have three draws, one defeat and just one victory in their last five. However, in their last two games, they have come from 2-0 behind against Wexford and Kerry, before coming back to draw the game 2-2. Whether this is a sign of them being slow starters or strong finishers could be argued either way.

Despite that, they remain in third place and the second playoff place four points clear of Athlone.

Bray are in dreary form with three defeats and two draws in their last five matches and are currently seventh on the table and in danger of falling further following being well in playoff contention a few weeks ago.

Their off-the-field issues which they had last season but seemed to have washed their hands of this season have seemingly returned and they donโ€™t look in good shape to finish the season.

Prediction

Cobh 2-0 Bray

Wexford v Kerry

When? 7.45 pm, Friday 11th August

Where? Ferrycarrig Park, โ€ŽWexford

How To Watch?ย LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Wexford can be gotten at 1/3, Kerry are 7/1, while the draw is 7/2.

Preview

Wexford have two wins, two defeats and a loss in their last five games to currently occupy fifth on the table and currently in the final playoff place.

The signing of Thomas Oluwa on loan from Waterford has made them a much more potent attacking outfit and I think will ultimately prove the difference maker for them for the playoff places come the end of the season.

Kerry looked on the brink of their first League of Ireland league home victory when they went 2-0 up against Cobh on Monday. However, it wasnโ€™t to be in this one and they will have to wait until their FAI Cup clash against Drogheda in two weeks to finally have their home win.

Prediction

Wexford 1-1 Kerry

Finn Harps v Treaty United

When? 8.00 pm, Friday, 11th August

Where? Ballybofey, Donegal

How To Watch?ย LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Finn Harps can be gotten at 6/4, Treaty are 8/5, while the draw is 23/10

Preview

Finn Harps were disappointingly humbled by Athlone last time out losing 4-1 in their previous four matches it looked like they had finally found some form with two draws and two victories.

Harps following their poor start to the season though are well in playoff contention and a win could see them climb up to sixth on the table.

Treaty are in poor form with three defeats, one win and one draw in their last five matches. Their most disappointing result came when they surrendered a potential 2-1 victory against Longford to have a 2-3 loss conceding two late goals.

Treaty are in danger of falling behind the chasing playoff pack and a win here will be a must.

Prediction

Finn Harps 1-0 Treaty

Longford Town v Athlone

When? 7.30 pm, Saturday 12th August

Where? Bishopsgate, Longford

How To Watch?ย LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Longford are 9/4, Athlone are EVS, while the draw is 12/5.

Preview

Longford are in excellent form, compared with their slow season start, they have now three wins, one draw and just one defeat in their last five league games.

Stephen Henderson deserves an awful lot of credit for the job he is doing along with the recruitment, most notably for me signing Beineon O’Brien-Whitmarsh on a Free Transfer. He has six goals and two assists in ten games since signing. Longford looks very likely to make playoffs based on their recent form.

Athlone have two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five games. This means they currently occupy fourth on the table four points behind Cobh, but five points clear of Wexford in fifth.

That fourth spot looks like very much thereโ€™s to lose as we get closer to playoff season.

Prediction

Longford 1-1 Athlone

Draw 12/5
