Lilywhites Cut To Continue Title Reign

Dundalk FC have been slashed for their third consecutive Airtricity Premier Division League title after a crucial victory over rivals Cork City at Oriel Park on Tuesday night.

The Lilywhites are now as short as 1/7 after their odds were drastically cut from 4/9 to hold onto the title for a third consecutive year as they went four points clear of Cork on the table. Cork have been eased to 4/1 from 13/8 to catch the reigning champions and cause an upset.

Stephen Kenny’s men also have the FAI Cup firmly within their grasp at 8/11 to overcome Cork, who are Even money.

Completing the League and Cup double for a second time would top off what has been an exceptional year and season for Dundalk, who are also currently competing in the group stages of the Europa League. The League/Cup double can be backed at Evens with BoyleSports.

Dundalk’s 2-1 win over Cork has made the League theirs to lose as their odds have been cut into 1/7 from 4/9.

Cork’s defeat to the title holders has put a large dent in their hopes of stripping their rivals of the title as they drift out to 4/1.

Dundalk’s recent home defeat to Sligo Rovers is now just a minor blip on the radar as their most recent win over Cork reignites faith that they can pull off the double for a second consecutive year, which is further backed by their Even money price.
