Liverpool Fan Ready To Downgrade Forecast To “Might Be Our Year”

Liverpool fan Aidan Morris, 35, has conceded that his optimistic summer forecast that it was “going to be their year” may have to be re-evaluated.

His change of heart comes after Jurgen Klopp’s side were beaten 2-0 at newly-promoted Burnley.

Morris has admitted to close friends that he was sure they’d hammer Sean Dyche’s side now Alberto Moreno had been dropped from the team.

It’s not the first time Morris’ faith in Liverpool has been tested, having shelled out £9.99 on a market stall for a “Liverpool League Champions” t-shirt in 2014 on the morning of their 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace. Sadly, he didn’t get a receipt.

To make matters worse, Morris attended the defeat at Turf Moor and suffered facial injuries after a wayward Philippe Coutinho shot hit him in the face.

A source close to Morris revealed that it’s not the first time he’s had to lower his expectations, stating

It’s probably about the 26th time since 1990 that, despite his early faith, it’s turned out not to be their year.
