In-form Shane Lowry has been backed for more success on the course as he prepares to take on the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California this week.

The Offaly man got his season off to a flying start with a victory in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January and has made the cut in four previous visits to this week’s coastal track, which will host the 119th US Open in June.

Dustin Johnson, who registered a European Tour victory in Saudi Arabia last week, is the 5/1 favourite ahead of 9/1 shot Jason Day,

with Europe’s main hope of a victory stateside this week coming in the shape of Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood.

The Southport man is chalked up at 22/1 alongside three-time major champion Jordan Spieth.
