Lowry Shortens To Lead GB & Irish Challenge At Masters

Shane Lowry is on the end of some local support ahead of this week’s US Masters at Augusta as his odds on finishing the best of the GB and Irish contingent were cut on Tuesday.

Lowry is a 100/1 shot to score his first major championship victory this week but was backed into 22/1 from 25/1 with BoyleSports to beat the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood and finish as the leading GB & Irish player.

Lowry, who has one victory this season already in the shape of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, is an odds-on 1/2 to make the cut and 17/2 to add to previous top 10 finishes in the US Open and British Open Championships. There has been a rich history of hole-in-ones at the famous par three 16th and you can get odds of 80/1 if you fancy the Offaly man to hit an ace at any stage during the tournament.

Rory McIlroy looks certain to tee-off as favourite to win his first green jacket and is the popular market leader ahead of prolific winner Dustin Johnson who leads the charge for the Americans at 10/1.

BoyleSports will be paying 7 places on the first major of the year as well as offering punters their money back as a free bet if their selection finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th includng ties.

It’s one of the most anticipated golfing weeks of the year and the home support is flowing in for Shane Lowry from punters who would no doubt be gutted not to be on if he goes to win a green jacket for Ireland. He ticks one of the key trends with a win under his belt this year and…

although we’d face some chunky payouts if he done it, we’d be more than happy to cheer him up the 18th as a Masters winner.
