Marcus Rashford Odds Plummet To Scoop BBC Sports Personality Award

Tyson Fury is still the favourite to be crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year but his grip is not as tight as it was a few hours ago as Marcus Rashford is picking up the pace.

Monday morning saw a massive increase in support for the Manchester United striker as his odds were backed all the way into the 3/1 second favourite from 10/1.

The surge in activity was because of a letter he penned to all MP’s encouraging them to reverse their decision surrounding child support for the vulnerable and on Tuesday, it was announced that about 1.3 million children will get free school meal vouchers during the holidays, following his campaign.

This has resulted in further support as Rashford’s odds have crumbled into 7/4 from 3/1 which means he is very close to becoming the new favourite to land the coveted prize.

Tyson Fury has now seen his odds drift out to 6/4 but he was the red hot 4/7 favourite 24 hours ago.

Marcus Rashford’s emotional letter sent to MP’s surrounding child support has seen him gather the punters’ support. Tyson Fury is hanging onto favouritism by a thread as he has been eased out to 6/4 from a red hot 4/7.
