Mark Allen World Championship Snooker Odds Shorten Significantly

Punters are now eyeing a maiden World Snooker Championship title for Mark Allen after he landed his home event in an epic final in Belfast on Sunday night.

The Antrim man enjoyed a stunning week at the Northern Ireland Open, hitting a maximum break against Si Jiahui before booking a final in front of his home fans against four-time World Champion John Higgins.

Allen dug deep from 8-6 down to win the deciding frame and has since said there is no reason why he can’t follow in the footsteps of Alex Higgins and Dennis Taylor by going on to win the World Championships at The Crucible in Sheffield next year.

The new World No. 9 has now been backed into 20/1 from 33/1 in the betting to win a first World title in 2022,

…making him the second most likely breakthrough winner at the event behind 14/1 shot Kyren Wilson.

Judd Trump returned to the top of the world rankings following the conclusion of the Northern Ireland Open and he is the early 3/1 favourite to be crowned World Champion for a second time ahead of 4/1 second favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan.
