Martin O’Neill’s Odds Drift To Survive Into 2019

The odds on Martin O’Neill being the Republic of Ireland manager going into the New Year are on the drift after their 2018 ended on another low note.

The Irish side played out a 0-0 draw in their final UEFA Nations League group game on Monday night having been already been relegated to League C. They failed to register a shot on target during the game and have now gone 397 minutes without a goal.

Boylesports now rate Martin O’Neill’s chances of being the Republic of Ireland boss going into 2019 at 10/11, but that had been a shorter odds-on shot at 4/6 before the game in Aarhus on Monday night.

He has been backed into 2/1 from 5/2 to be gone from the Irish dugout by the time the Euro 2020 Qualifiers begin in March 2019, while the chances of him leaving his post before the start of the Euro 2020 finals is a red-hot 1/2 shot.

A friendly win against the USA was the sole victory out of 9 games in 2018 for the Republic of Ireland and…

punters are putting their money behind a change in management before too long.

It’s touch and go now at around the Evens mark that he’ll even make it to the end of the year.
