McGregor v Poirier III Odds On To Go Ahead Despite Twitter Row

Conor McGregor was being backed earlier this month to get his own back on Dustin Poirier after a trilogy fight between the old rivals was agreed. But now the bout is up in the air following a spat between the pair on social media.

The rematch between the two rivals is scheduled to take place on July 10th at UFC 264.

But the latest remarks from ‘The Notorious’ appeared to put the fight in jeopardy after a bitter war of words.

McGregor hit back on Twitter on Monday after Poirier’s claims that he reneged on a $500,000 charity donation, saying in one of his tweets that the fight was off. However, punters are not buying it as BoyleSports had to cut the chances of the fight going ahead into 1/4 from 4/7 on Tuesday morning following strong backing from UFC fans.

McGregor was stopped in round two of his Octagon return in January, but BoyleSports have seen keen interest on him returning to winning ways in the trilogy match, with his chances already trimmed into 4/7 from 4/5.

The Dubliner took just 106 seconds to see off his rival when they first met in Las Vegas in 2014 and the American is rated an 11/8 shot to deny him a second victory should the fight go ahead.
