My Drogo Odds-On For Friday’s Novices’ Chase At Cheltenham

Horse Racing fans will be very happy come Friday with the start of the November meeting at Cheltenham kicking off the weekend in style with some mouth-watering clashes to savour.

Dan Skelton’s My Drogo is a red-hot 2/5 favourite to start the new season with a bang as a novice chaser as he faces just two rivals in the 2m4f Novices’ Chase.

Last seen winning the Grade One Mersey Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree under jockey Harry Skelton, My Drogo is the firm favourite to beat Henry De Bromhead’s Gin On Lime (3/1) and Gordon Elliott’s Fancy Foundations (15/2). The latter was a faller in a Grade Three Novice Chase at Tipperary last month in a race won by his rival here Gin On Lime.

Henry De Bromhead saddles the favourite in the Cross Country Handicap Chase with Balko Des Flos at 4/1. Runner-up to Minella Times in the Aintree Grand National earlier this year, the 10-year-old servant was well-beaten on his seasonal debut but is fancied to get back to winning ways at Prestbury Park.

The Richard J Bandey trained Diesel D’Allier is the 11/2 second favourite having made the switch to the UK from a career in France. The cross-country fences won’t be alien to him either as he finished fourth to Easysland over the banks during the 2020 Cheltenham Festival.

The Paul Nicholls trained Gelino Bello is the 5/4 favourite in the betting to win the 2m5f Novices’ Hurdle under Harry Cobden as Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell team up with the exciting Off Your Rocco, who is the 11/4 second favourite.
