A Nasty Fall for Ana But She’s Been Lucky

It’s been a tricky time for us recently with Ana’s nasty fall at Killarney but she was lucky and please God she’s going to be fine.

Winners
On the racing side our horses have been running well and long may it last. Le Richebourg notched another victory and he has now won both times over hurdles very nicely. There’s a chance he may have an entry in Galway and hopefully he’s a horse with a bright future.

Monarch won nicely at Kilbeggan and he’s been second three times over hurdles so we’ll see what kind of handicap mark he gets and decide then whether to stick him into handicaps or keep him in novice company. He’s a horse that could progress.

Stepping Up
Bhutan is another nice horse for the future after a win at Tipperary on Sunday. His jumping was nice but not perfect so hopefully there’s a little bit of improvement to come on that side things. He went to the line very strong and there’s no reason to step him into too high a class just yet, we think he’s a nice horse.

On the flat on Sunday at Fairyhouse Boragh Steps had nice form after a good run first time out and won very well at a short price.

She’s a nice filly who looks well entitled for a step up in class…

…and I might try to find a winners race for her next.

Galway
The weights have just been published for the Galway Plate and Hurdle.

I have a couple in the hurdle and Tigris River has had a good summer so far running well on the flat and over hurdles.

He ran well in last year’s race so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t do so again.

Plinth is in good form also. The handicapper gave him 8lbs for his win at Tipperary which will make things difficult but he is well entitled to turn up at a race like this. All The Answers also has an entry, he’s a nice horse and he finished second in a chase at Killarney last time so he might stay chasing, but this will be a good option if he gets in and if the three of them get in they will all run.
