Next Aston Villa Manager Pending As Steven Gerrard Job Threatened

Steven Gerrard’s job is on the line as Aston Villa make the trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the Premier League on Thursday.

That’s according to our football ambassador Natalie Sawyer, as the West Midlanders have won just two of their ten league matches so far this season – and the 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea left them just one point above the relegation zone heading into the midweek Premier League fixtures.

Now Sawyer has warned manager Gerrard that he needs an immediate upturn in results to save himself from the axe. Scroll down for latest Price Boosts on the match on Thursday.

“Kepa was superb in goal for Chelsea at Aston Villa and some of the saves he made were brilliant,” she told BoyleSports.

“Steven Gerrard and his players have probably come away thinking ‘what if’ because if they had have got something from the game, I don’t think we’d be having the same questions over the future of the manager.

“But results-wise things aren’t going their way and that’s why they find themselves where they are.

“The pressure will just continue to ramp up because after Fulham it’s Brentford at home, another game which would pile pressure on if they don’t get something from it.

“Fulham fought back twice for a draw against Bournemouth – they have a spirit about them that unfortunately Aston Villa don’t have at this moment in time.

“Once Villa get clicking, they may go on a good run, but I fear for Steven Gerrard because we’re not seeing much of an improvement since he came into the role.”
