Odds Shorten On Stephanie For Puskas Award
Pukas Award 2014
The final three candidates for the FIFA Puskas Award were announced on Monday with James Rodriguez, Robin Van Persie and Ireland’s Stephanie Roche making the final lineup.
Real Madrid and Colombia star Rodriguez is the 4/9 favourite to land the award for this wondergoal against Uruguay in the World Cup.
Ireland’s Stephanie Roche is the only female player ever to be named and she is now in with a one in three chance of landing the coveted award on January 12th.
Roche, who is now playing with French Division 1 Féminine team ASPTT Albi, had been installed at 6/1 on Monday evening but following a flurry of bets in the past 24 hours, the former Peamount United striker is now priced at 9/2 to land the award for her cracking goal against Wexford Youths that has gone viral around the world.
The other contender is The Netherlands’ Robin Van Persie who can be backed at 7/2 to win the award for his header which looped over Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas and set his side en route to a stunning 5-1 victory over Spain in the World Cup.
We at Boylesports wish Stephanie the very best of luck and hope that everyone logs onto the FIFA website to vote for Stephanie and come January 12th that the talented female footballer is awarded the coveted prize that has been won in the past by big names such as Ronaldo, Neymar and most recently, Zlatan Ibrahimović.
