One For The Books! BoyleSports’ Cheltenham Festival 2019 Most Successful Ever

After taking a kicking from punters on Day 2 and 3 of Cheltenham Festival, the bookies bit back hard on the 4th day on Friday with just one of the favourites living up to their status.

It may not have been a day for the punters, but it was one to remember for six-time runner Willie Mullins who landed his first ever Gold Cup victory with Al Boum Photo who went off at 12/1.

Runner-up Anibale Fly (22/1) also impressed and was quickly cut into 14/1 from 25/1 for the Aintree Grand National.

With a lack of favourites passing the post first it meant a quiet day for BoyleSports offer of a free bet if 2nd/3rd to the SP favourite in any race at the festival. Only punters on Shantou Flyer (7/1) and Top Wood (33/1) in the Foxhunter Challenge Cup availed of the generous offer as 7/2 favourite Hazel Hill won by a four-lengths.

However, as the offer applied to every race, every day of the festival, BoyleSports’ customers revelled in their fair share of free bets especially across Wednesday and Thursday which saw 6 consecutive winning favourites over Day 2 and 3.

Overall it was BoyleSports’ busiest Cheltenham Festival ever! We have broken all our records in terms of turnover.

It wasn’t a one-sided affair however as days 2 and 3 belonged to the punter

…but the bookies finished it off very strongly with an excellent result in the Gold Cup with most of the leading favourites falling to make an impact.

We worked hard to ensure our customers had the best betting experience throughout the four days of Cheltenham and it was evident after a few in particular had a very good and profitable time such as our two Dubliners who landed a combined €32,000 by backing horses with French names or even more notably our Kerry customer who pocketed a lifechanging €182,500 for their €2 punt on day 1 of the festival.
