PFA Player Of The Year Betting Odds As Liverpool Stars Catch The Eye

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota is now 16/1 from 33/1 to be crowned the PFA Player of the Year while the Reds are 8/13 favourites from 2/1 to beat 6/5 Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.

Two goals from striker Jota was enough to secure victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side over Arsenal on Thursday to reach the EFL Cup final and enough to see his odds cut to be crowned this season’s best player in the Premier League.

Jota impressed at the Emirates Stadium, with Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane away at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. A superb second goal, initially ruled out for offside but was then corrected by VAR, made sure Liverpool were heading back to the capital next month.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers player has scored 27 goals since coming to Merseyside and seen his odds cut in half with BoyleSports to become the PFA Player of the Year.

Salah is the 8/13 favourite, however, with Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva at 5/1 and 7/1, respectively.

Salah was having a standout season before departing for the AFCON tournament, and fans on Twitter have been voting in their droves for the Egyptian so far to win this season’s individual prize.

The 29-year-old is in talks with the Anfield hierachy over a contract extension, but nothing has been signed just yet as both parties look to agree on all fronts. Salah has stated he wants to stay with Liverpool, though.
