Pique Sous Fav For Northumberland Plate

Boylesports has installed the Willie Mullins trained Pique Sous as the 4/1 favourite for Saturday’s Northumberland Plate at Newcastle.

His stable mate Simenon is priced at 10/1 to bounce back to winning ways with Whiplash Willie next in the betting at 12/1 alongside De Riguer, Alcaeus, Suegioo, Duke Of Clarence and Oriental Fox.

Tony Martin last won the race in 2008 with Arc Bleu and holds two entries in the form of Thomas Edison (14/1) and Dark Crusader (20/1).

Nicky Henderson also holds two entries with Earth Amber (16/1) who will be ridden by Kieren Fallon and Lieutenant Miller (20/1) with Tom Queally booked for the ride.

Pique Sous caught many punters eyes and hit Boylesports hard when landing the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot last Saturday and has started to attract support at 4/1 to follow up with a quick victory at Newcastle on Saturday.

“Globetrotting stable mate, Simenon, may also take his chance and is priced at 10/1 to land the race for the Clonsutton based handler.”
