Punters Predict More Pain At Polls For Tories

Theresa May should brace herself for a further blow at the hands of the electorate according to the latest betting as the Conservative Party digest the results of Thursday’s local elections.

Commentators and members alike were predicting heavy losses for the Tories as the votes were tallied up but whatever the final damage to Tory representation at council level, the latest odds suggest it will be overshadowed by a hammering at the European elections on May 23rd.

The Tories were chalked up at 5/1 to win most UK seats in the Euro elections but with support swelling for the other parties,

they are now massive 40/1 shots to come out on top once the votes are counted.

Nigel Farage’s new Brexit Party, who recently revealed former Tory frontbencher Ann Widdecombe as a candidate, did not stand in the local elections however they have been backed off the boards to sweep up at the Euro elections at the end of the month.

They opened up as 5/2 second favourites behind Labour to win most UK seats, but they have been gambled all the way into an odds-on 1/3 to with Labour drifting from 10/11 to 9/4.
