Punters Sweet On Roberto Martinez For Everton Job

Roberto Martinez was the major mover in the betting to be appointed next permanent Everton manager in the 24 hours after the sacking of Rafa Benitez.

Everton confirmed on Sunday that they had parted company with the Spaniard after just six and a half months in charge following a run that has seen only one Premier League victory since September.

Belgium manager Martinez is now an even money favourite for the post having been briefly available at 10/1 when the market opened,

…while original favourite Wayne Rooney has been eased from 5/4 out to 9/2 in the betting.

Brighton boss Graham Potter is another trending in the right direction at 7/1 from 12/1, while assistant boss Duncan Ferguson has remained a steady second favourite at 10/3.
