Republic of Ireland’s Odds Shorten To Top Group D

Republic of Ireland currently sit top of Group D after collecting maximum points from their opening two games against Gibraltar and Georgia respectively.

It was a much improved performance from Mick McCarthy’s men last night in Dublin and Irish fans have been quick to get behind the boys in green and back them into 6/5 from 6/4 to finish in the Top 2 of Group D.

There is no doubt that much sterner tests lie ahead and none more so than a trip to play Denmark away from home in early June. Ireland have attracted some support at 6/1 for a victory in their next match which has forced us to cut their price into 11/2.

The Danes will be feeling good about themselves after coming from three behind to secure a point against Switzerland in Basel and are now 5/4 from 6/4 to win Group D.

It is clear from the performance last night that McCarthy is getting through to his players and as he said himself in a post-match interview, hopefully Ireland can remain top of the group come the end of qualification and for that to happen, punters can back them at 9/2
