Stephen Kenny’s side make the trip for their opener on an eight-game unbeaten run and have also won both previous fixtures against the Armenians by a one-goal margin.
An Irish victory on Saturday has now shortened into 5/6 from 11/10 with BoyleSports, who make another win by a one-goal margin a 5/2 shot. Stephen Kenny’s men have also been clipped into 3/1 from 7/2 to top their group, which also includes Ukraine (11/8 favourites) and Scotland (7/4).
Robinson scored six goals at international level over October and November last year and is a 6/1 shot in the first goalscorer betting behind Scott Hogan and Will Keane (both 11/2).
BoyleSports Football Ambassador Natalie Sawyer is confident the Republic of Ireland will build on a strong run of form by getting their Nations League campaign off to a winning start.
“Stephen Kenny didn’t enjoy the best of starts as Republic of Ireland manager, but wow have they enjoyed an upturn in form,” she told BoyleSports.
“They are unbeaten in their last eight and there is a new-found air of confidence in the side, a real feel-good factor.”
“They are searching for their first Nations League win and there’s no better place to do it at Armenia who haven’t only won once in their last 11.
“Callum Robinson is somebody you would be looking at to get on the scoresheet, he has definitely been enjoying life under Stephen Kenny.
“But there are newcomers too and that is positive for Ireland going forward because it drives competition. A lot of players will be desperate to get on the scoresheet and Republic of Ireland can win this.”
